three things that bug me…

1)      The volume level on commercials. Why do they increase the volume so much on commercials? It’s so irritating!

2)      Segways. Why don’t people just get electric wheelchairs?

3)      The Mariner’s alternate jersey. It looks so weird.

Cant speak too much to #1 or #2, but the Mariners aternate jerseys are hideous. Not sure why they wear them. Moreover, that picture of Ichiro bugs me, but he bugs me in general, but thats another topic for another day.

    1) You’ll be happy to know that this problem has been addressed. The CALM Act was signed by President Obama last December. The Commercial Advertisement Loudness Mitigation (CALM) Act will be enforced one year from adoption. Changes should be seen by December 15, 2011. Some broadcasters will be granted a 1 year waiver if they prove that they will suffer financial hardship if the volume is forced to be reduced.

    2) Segways? I don’t see why you don’t understand the convenience. You get to move around and stand at eye level, not feeling handicapped, while not having to use your legs. They have drink holders that hold up to 64 oz (yes, that’s a half gallon) of coke-a-cola, and you can even eat a quarter-pounder (or big mac, freedom of choice, we live in america) while cruising with little to no spilling. Name one other electronic device that contributes to obesity in such a way…NONE! That’s what I thought.

    3) Mariners teal jerseys. Flat out hideous. And they should call it their primary jersey, not the alternative. They wear it while away and at home and it’s not pretty in any location. We’ll see if they were it the weekend of June 24th when they play the Marlins. That has potential to be one turquoise and teal mess.
